I'm truly honored to have so many students adapt material from Bald in the Land of Big Hair for UIL competition. Thank you! And knock 'em dead!
For the paperwork: I was born January 29, 1962.
I'm a Wisconsin writer because I was born in Tomah and attended Viterbo College in LaCrosse.
I'm a Montana writer because I lived there for several years and two of my books are set there. My kids were both born in Helena.
I'm a Texas wrtier because I've lived in Houston since 1994, and two of my books are set here. Gotta tell ya, I love this town.
My son's name is Malachi, after a Hebrew prophet. Pronounced mal (rhymes with pal) uh (rhymes with duh) ki (rhymes with sky).
My daughter's name is Jerusha, after a wise Hebrew queen, but I stole that idea from the James Michener book Hawaii. (Great book. Check it out.)
Go here for additional FAQs, and if you just want to say hey, flip me an email. I'd love to hear from you.
Break a leg!

Thought you might enjoy this slightly crud-stained photo of me in my musical theatre days. Vigilante Players circa 1982. (I'm the tall one with the hangover.)
